VSL Australia: switching to a green energy to reduce consumption 🍃

In Australia, fossil fuels, such as coal and gas, radiated about 70% of electricity production in 2021. VSL Australia have therefore begun evaluating their electricity usages internally and with their suppliers.

The company found that some electricity suppliers could provide greener energy with better cost, allowing for 20 to 30% savings. So, since February 2022, VSL Australia has switched its electricity supplier to a green power and neutral carbon supplier for their four offices and workshops based in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane. With this change, no C02 emissions have been emitted since February for electricity consumption, i.e. a saving of 39 tonnes of CO2 compared to 2021, associated with 39% financial savings.

On top of that, VSL Australia has also replaced all their traditional lights in offices and workshops by LED lights. With the implementation of these LEDs (and other new practices such as home office), VSL Australia has saved about 20% of its electricity consumption per year.
