Homebush Bay Bridge

Posted on September 17th, 2014

VSL Australia Pty Ltd and Brady Marine & Civil JV have been awarded the Homebush Bay Bridge connecting Wentworth Point to Rhodes. The construction of the $60-Million bridge began in September and is due for completion early 2016.

The bridge is a pre-cast box cantilever consisting of two-lanes, 12-metres wide with an overall span of 330 metres. The bridge has been designed to accommodate pedestrians, cyclists as well as public buses and emergency services vehicles.

The bridge plays a major role in the NSW government’s Urban Activation Precinct, proposed for the northern end of the Wentworth Point peninsula. The bridge reduces the travel time between Wentworth point and Rhodes from 8km to less than 500 metres.
