Ballina Bypass

Posted on September 17th, 2014

VSL Australia was awarded the Emigrant Creek South Bridge which is being constructed for Leighton Contractors and the RMS as part of the Pimlico to Teven Enabling works section of the Pacific Highway Upgrade near Ballina in NSW. The bridge is a cast in-situ balanced cantilever segment using VSL modular form traveller system. VSL’s responsibility on this project includes the full superstructure construction from above the piers.

VSL previously worked with the Ballina Bypass Alliance to deliver the existing bridge at emigrant Creek using the same construction methodology back in 2009. The picture shows the completion of the first cast in-situ segment on the right and the existing bridge that VSL completed on the left.
